When not involved with Wayin, Bryan is busy retweeting a lot of interesting articles (including TWB!). If your Google Reader content isn't enough, follow Bryan and you'll get some articles to read to keep busy. He also has the revolutionary idea to take Josh Freeman in the first round of fantasy football this year. I dunno, he might be onto something...

Follow Friday: The Last Five Guests I Had on the Podcast
I was going to tell you to follow William Regal today, but in all honesty, you don't need me to prod you to follow Regal, because you probably already are. From here on out, I'm probably just going to feature wrestlers you don't know or folks in the Twitterati/blogosphere who are cool and deserve your follows. Why? Because WWE really doesn't need my help getting the Twitter word out there, and they get behind everyone, from the cool guys (Regal, John Cena, Zack Ryder, CM Punk, etc.) to the utter tools (Goldust, Michael Cole etc.). So, yeah, to start the newly refreshed view on this, here are the last five guests on The Wrestling Podcast, all of whom are cool in their own way:
*- Not really, but follow these people anyway.
- Jeff Paternostro (@jeffpaternostro) - Jeff is the latest and longest-winded guest to date. When he's talkin' baseball and 'rasslin' on the Podcast, he's writing about baseball at Amazin' Avenue, the SB Nation blog about the New York Mets. His favorite things, aside from rooting for a team that crushes his very soul, are Toryumon-influenced puroresu, hipster music and the San Francisco 49ers.
- Trey Irby (@WrestlingTheory and @treyirby) - The former handle is for his wrestling related tweets and the latter is in general. Anyway, he writes the Tumblog Wrestling Theory as well as hosts a local Tuscaloosa radio show called The Long Tide. Like Paternostro, he loves his hipster music. Unlike Paternostro, he's still in school, so he's not too jaded... yet.
- Spencer Hall (@edsbs) - If you're not following the great and powerful Orson Swindle now, after all the times I've told you on here and on Twitter itself, then either you don't like college football or you're a monster who doesn't like to laugh. His blog, Every Day Should Be Saturday, is a must read for all wrestling fans, and he's great for a quirky, cracked-out-by-his-own-admission musings all year long. Today, he was getting the base riled up by posting punnish tweets with hashtags that rhyme with Internet-era portmanteau "humblebrag".
- The Great and Mysterious flubby (@flubby) - His real name redacted for professional reasons, the Flubster is one of now five members of the irreverent NFL bloggers at Kissing Suzy Kolber. While he may not post as much as his brethren there, he is worth following due to his witticisms from time to time. Plus, his Tumblr, the Sugar Sheet, and his Google Reader share-cache are really cool treasure troves of wacky .gifs and other random columns.
- Tom Kingsmill (@WetOREO)Finally, Tom is a really good real life friend of mine who lives horror, bad wrestling, television and '90s music. Visit his occasionally updated blog, Last Blog on Dead End Street, where he'll write about all kinds of stuff in the horror genre.
*- Not really, but follow these people anyway.

Follow Friday: Thank Yous
This week, I had something lined up, but I really don't feel like writing about the wrestlers I had listed. So instead, I'm going to give shoutouts to the people who gave me Follow Friday mentions today on Twitter. Is it lazy? Maybe, but you know what? FUCK YOU IT'S MY BLOG... err... I mean, uh, here they are:
@Shake_Well - Joe Drilling of the On the Stick and Action Cast podcasts is a really cool dude. You should follow him because he's got some good POVs on wrestling (he wrote for the first Fair to Flair quarterly) and he's part of a weird cadre of Brewers fans who follow me (and I follow in kind) on Twitter. Weird.
@NateLinehan - A Boston area Twitterer, Nate is also an aficianado of The Simpsons, hot dogs and of course, wrestling. He shares the same disdain for Triple H and the same respect for the women wrestlers.
@HittheRopes - The official Twitter of the podcast by the same name, they're always a lively account to follow on Monday nights. Check 'em out!
@OkoriWadsworth - He's one of my Twitter followers who likes himself some indie wrestling and like me, doesn't see what the big deal is with Mercedes Martinez. He's also a self-proclaimed Michigan Man, though without the Michigan education
@NotTripleH - This faux-Trips paid me a pretty good compliment by calling me a very talented writer. I'm not sure what blog he's been reading... ahh, I keed, I keed. This account isn't for the weak-stomached. He says a lot of stuff that's intentionally offensive, but 99% of it is really funny, I think.
@WrestleChatNet - WCN, run by Brett Clendaniel, Jr. with writing from Jeff Peck was featured last week, but I'll feature them again. They're probably the best C&P site out there, mainly because there's no malware or viruses. Plus, they support me and post my blogs with links back. They're good friends to me over there.
@wrestlespective - He's just some guy.
...nah, if you guys don't know who Jason Mann is by now, then yeah, you're probably a new reader here. He's the founder and spiritual sherpa for Fair to Flair as well as the emcee of the Wrestlespective Radio podcast, which is wrapping up its SummerSlam main event series.

Belated Follow Friday: Camel Clutch Blog Crew
![]() |
| You will be humbled Photo Credit: CCB |
First up is the Managing Editor and main writer of the site, Eric Gargiulo, found @CamelClutchBlog. He's a really cool guy with a very positive but fair outlook on things. He used to be in the business as CZW's TV announcer, and now he's part of our community, running one of the finest blogs on the net. He's also a big foodie, so hit him up if you want to talk about delicious things to eat.
Also on the staff are a crack collection of folks who have their own unique writing styles and the like. First up is Justin Henry, whom you can find @cynicjrh. He often has irreverent takes on any subject you want, and he's actually all over the Internet at both Wrestling News Source and WrestleCrap.
Next up is Brett Clendaniel, found @Brettley916. He's a Philly guy like the two listed above and myself, and he also runs the rumors-and-news dump site WrestleChat.Net. Yeah, I know, the rumor stuff might be what I've been railing against, but Brett's site is great for three reasons. One, no popups or malware. Two, he does post news bits from time to time that prove useful. Three, he doesn't really claim to be a news breaker, just a guy who takes what he finds on the Net and passes it along. The site itself has a Twitter, found @WrestleChatNet.
There's also Jeff Peck, who's at @TheRealJeffPeck. He's an Internet radio/podcasting machine whose site, Wheelhouse Radio, hosts the It's Still Real to Us Show, which also features Gargiulo.
Finally, Dustin Nichols is the newest writer at the blog, and you can find him @XDustinEFLX. Dustin actually has gotten himself the most notable exposure in a dubious way out of all of us thus far. He criticized Madison Rayne on week in an Impact review and got this classy response from the former Knockouts Champion:
Who said wrestlers don't take to criticism from the media well? Oh yeah, everyone. But hey, I guess you haven't been in the wrestling journalism/opinion writing game unless someone's trashed you. I have anonymous trolls. Dustin has Madison Rayne. Advantage: Dustin.

Follow Friday: The Masked Man
![]() |
He started out at Deadspin doing the "Dead Wrestler of the Week" in which he'd write really verbose but really beautifully constructed career retrospectives of, you guessed it, dead wrestlers. I guess you could say he's an OG when it comes to writing about wrestling in a constructive, critical way that looks at what happened on the screen rather than how much money it's making. From there, he landed a gig doing the wrestling columns at Grantland. Bill Simmons is a noted wrestling fan, so of course he was going to have someone covering it on the site. I'm glad he got Shoemaker to do it, because hey, if you're going to have someone write about wrestling on a sports journalism and opinion site that set out to raise the bar, you might as well get the best around.
Follow him on Twitter. He's not around 24/7 like some folks, i.e. me, but he when he's there, he brings insight. Great member of the Better Wrestling Journalism Group.

Follow Friday: The Travel Channel
![]() |
The first is Anthony Bourdain (@NoReservations), whose show No Reservations, takes him all around the globe to places domestic and foreign to try out the different cuisines and take in the different cultures. He's not just going to the big restaurants, but he's going to holes in the wall and into people's houses. He's brash and a bit rough around the edges, but that's what his appeal is. On Twitter, some of that attitude rubs off, as in the past he's gotten into verbal spats with food critics and pretended like he was the guy who stole Guy Fieri's car a few months back.
Secondly is Andrew Zimmern (@andrewzimmern), host of Bizarre Foods. As his show title suggests, Zimmern eats the weirdest, vilest or just most unconventional foods he can find. He doesn't just eat gross stuff, although if you've seen the Minnesota or Sardinia episodes where he ate lutefisk and maggot cheese respectively, you know he does go for the most reprehensible sounding stuff out there. He's very bold, and I wouldn't go near some of the stuff he's ingested, but he comes off as affable and adventurous all at the same time. On Twitter, you can find him posting about all the foods he eats, normal or otherwise, and posting about his son. Fun fact about Zimmern: he likes Ugandan swamp rat but HATES walnuts. Strange, I know.
Lastly, there's Adam Richman (@AdamRichman), whose shows Man vs. Food and Man vs. Food Nation are among the rowdiest and most popular on the network. Richman is all about chowing down on the nation's most challenging food tasks, whether it's quantity or spiciness. He once ate a 48 oz. porterhouse steak in 20 minutes on live television. That, my friends, is precision gluttony. He's mostly active nowadays live-Tweeting MvF Nation, which is where he's given up the challenges himself (doctor's orders?) to coach regular joes like you and me to take them. As noted on here before, he coached Jerry Sags on eating a plate of super hot wings. Then again, was there any doubt that Sags could do it?

Follow Friday: 'Rasslin' Rousers of Rabble
You could call this week's Follow Friday a guide to the best 'rasslin'-themed trolls out there. These guys know how to push buttons, but they're hilarious doing it.
First up, it's probably the best and one of the originals, Typical ROH Fan, found @typicalROHfan (duh). He's the stereotype of every bad Internet wrestling fan out there, trashing WWE (except CM Punk and Daniel Bryan), pumping up ROH and mocking certain people for their Twitter misappropriations. He has his moments of lucidity, during which he is unusually prescient and knowledgeable.
Second is the Fake Sir Michael Cole, found @FakeSirCole. The Fake Cole is definitely playing up the Cole character all the way to eleven. He does it well too. He's also on Tumblr and Facebook.
Finally, the newest Twitter sensation is Dearest Vince, found @DearestVince, obviously. This was created in response to the #DearVince hashtag created as a way to tell Vince McMahon what we as wrestling fans want (itself a reply to Vince's in character rant of not caring what the fans want on Monday with CM Punk). Well, a clever troll definitely took advantage of that and started replying to people who used the hashtag, including me (who used the hashtag as a troll myself). One of the best new accounts to come down the pike in a long time. Very sharp.

Follow Friday: Future Endeavors Crew!
This week's Follow Friday goes out to the Future Endeavors crew. This troupe of live podcasters - Don Owens, Corey Santiago and the former Fat Man After Dark, Nick Gator - broadcast every Sunday night. It's a highly-regarded, engaging and usually raucous. You can find them on Twitter via their respective handles - @DXDONMEGA @CoreySantiago @nacgator.
Outside of the FE show, their reach on the Web is pretty good. They host the Power Poll each week, taking over for Jason Mann when he couldn't keep up with it anymore. Speaking of Mann, Owens can be found each month discussing the latest WWE PPV on Wrestlespective Radio. Also, Nick has his own podcast where he discusses things other than wrestling. Check these guys out on Twitter for all the things they have to say as well as to keep abreast with their media production.

Follow Friday: Twitter Followers
This week's Follow Friday sheds some light on two cool dudes. There's no real unifying theme, except that they follow me on Twitter and vice versa. The first is a real life friend of mine and fellow wrestling dork Tom Kingsmill, whom you can find @WetOREO. His wrestling wheelhouse is more pointing and laughing at WrestleCrap in action, mainly because he's also a huge fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000. He's also big into horror and '90s music, and he's always good for a laugh.
The second one is @KMBReferee. The name refers to his secondary job of refereeing sports in NC. He's a pretty vocal guy in many areas, including wrestling, sports, music, television, and yes, politics. Give him a follow, but whether you find you agree or disagree with him, he's a good debate.
Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!

Follow Friday: Jay Briscoe
| MAN UP and follow Briscoe! |
But then guys I do follow on Twitter started to retweet some of the shit he would write during RAW. And there were some really fuckin' good one-liners and zingers in there. Turns out that the elder Briscoe brother is good at being hilarious, and not just unintentionally either. I really think that if you're a wrestling fan, especially if you habitate on Twitter while watching RAW Mondays, you need to follow Jay Briscoe. Not sold? Some of his greatest hits:
Going FJM style on Mark Jackson during the NBA Finals:
Mark Jackson: "Jason Kidd's DNA is all over this team's title" #SkeetSkeetOn the essentials when you're on a budget:
U gotta keep a strict budget when u got 2 kids. Essentials only;Gas, food, formula, 20 ft. double waterslides 4 my sons b-day, diapers, ectOn what the prize would be if you donated to his tattoo fund:
Well since y'all like my twitter so much, EVERYBODY should donate 2 da "Jay Briscoe Tattoo Foundation" birdman12584@aol.com #PayPal #NoShame
Donate, and I'll give you a shout-out on this beloved twitter (hell, if its enough I'll give you a friggin' handjob)Seriously, you get this and a whole lot more. Follow this man today. TODAY I SAY.

| The quarterly! |
Jason Mann is the first on the list, found @wrestlespective, and he's the guy behind the idea. He's level-headed and often brings sense to situations where the Internet community might freak out. He also is a purveyor of really bad puns, which is endearing in a way. But yeah, he's the founder and without him, the project wouldn't have even been ideated.
Next up is K. Sawyer Paul, found @ksawyerpaul. He's stepping back from writing for the site because of personal issues, but he's still active in editing for the site as well as on Twitter and Tumblr, reposting articles and live-Tweeting DVD watching, most recently the Nitro DVD. He looks at things from a vastly different perspective than some, and he also HATES Bryan Alvarez's writing.
Third is my blogging Ric-Bro Suave, Mitch, whose handle is the ubiquitous @pizzabodyslam. He's the least active of the quintet, but for good reason. Dude has to do mad traveling for work. However, when he's around, he provides the RAW review in his standard WOO!/BOO! format. He also provides a look at wrestling from the most innocent point of view, in that he's probably the least jaded or "smarky" of the lot.
Last, but certainly not least, is Razor, whom you can find @kickoutblog. His angst and malaise towards Randy Orton is legendary, and it's a feeling I can certainly get behind. He also is the group's go-to personality for Tough Enough, video games and he's also in radio, so that makes him most valuable for podcasting when it comes around.
If you follow those four (and me, follow me!), as well as the actual @FairtoFlair feed, you'll get all the FtF posts, all our insights on wrestling and otherwise and just all the random fun we provide for free. Ah yes, that's the rub, "for free". We do have something that we charge for, and that's the Quarterly. I've pimped this before here, but it's worth doing again. Why? Because it's part of our mission statement, probably the biggest part.
Basically, we solicited for columns that would be memorable, that would be timeless, that would be as poignant five years from now as it is today. We got submissions from 11 of the best writers in the wrestling blogosphere (and from me), and all of them in some way contribute to this love letter to professional wrestling. It's chock-full of positivity and promise with critical thought mixed in. It's so different in tone than what you usually find in pay-for-print in wrestling that I guarantee you'll feel like you're underpaying for the whole thing when you order it. Again, my personal recommendation is to buy the digital copy for the low price of $10. You'll get a copy you can read on your e-Reader or laptop, and it's green to boot.
Listen, I know for a fact that some of you pay for the Observer or Torch. That's all well and good, and for news, yeah, I guess they're worth the money, even if at times, they get worked or report on things like spoilers that might change. Okay. But the commentary? It's often rambling, grammatically poor and so pessimistic, centered on ratings and other bullshit that you might not care about. It feels like it's not edited at times. And you can tell that some of them would rather be writing about MMA or that they disdainfully write about wrestling or they're disappointed that wrestling's not at the top of the world anymore. They don't appreciate the art. So, why not pay for commentary written by people who love wrestling, about topics you care about, and most importantly, edited by someone whose whole field of expertise is the written word? It's seriously professional grade, and at $10-25 an issue, depending on how you buy, that's a steal.
But hey, even if you don't buy the Quarterly, then at least give the FtF crew a follow on Twitter. You'll find that even the stuff provided for free is more than worth the price tag.
Remember you can contact TH and ask him questions about wrestling, life or anything else. Please refer to this post for contact information. He always takes questions!

Follow Friday: The Church of Macho
I know Macho Week was last week, but I didn't catch wind of this Twitter account until after Friday, so DEAL WITH IT. Anyway, there's a new religion sprouting up around Randy Savage, the Intercontinental Church of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. You can follow the church's pastor @TheMachoChurch.
If there were any religion that based around a wrestler that could catch on, I think this one's a good one. I mean, I'd have started the Order of Awesome and Righteous Jerichoholics, appointing myself as first Ayatollah of Rock 'n Rolla, but I'm not the pop-culture religious type. However, these guys are, and I commend them, because hey, why not celebrate Macho Man? Besides, if there are religions out there that worship a flying spaghetti monster or formed out of the whims of some fat guy with an epic double chin who happened to make four really good sci-fi flicks, one alright one and a terrible one, then hey, why not Macho Man? Give 'em a follow!

Follow Friday: Jay Lethal
| Black Machismo |
Anyway, you can find Lethal going forward in JAPW (where he'd been competing concurrently with TNA anyway) as well as ROH. While you'll have to dig deeper to find him, well, when you do, it'll be in an environment where he'll be given the platform to shine rather than be stuffed away in mothballs. Until then, follow him on Twitter, he's really great to his fans and has some interesting stuff to post now and again.
