For whatever reason, I missed the opening of RAW on June 30, 2008. Of course, on that day, they had to do something historic, like having CM Punk win the fuckin' World Heavyweight Championship. It just goes to show that Punk has always had a flair for the dramatic, even before he became fully actualized on a WWE stage. The thing that totally makes this moment is the celebration at the end. You can tell he was legitimately excited, or if he wasn't, that he did a good job pretending. That's one of the many reasons why people watch pro wrestling.
As an aside, remember when Punk was first going up against Cena at the end of last year/beginning of this year? He called Batista his friend. Watching this, I'm reminded a big reason why.
