TOGO~! |
Dick Togo, the hard-hitting bruiser of the Kaientai Dojo who made waves in America in both the WWF and ECW, will be retiring. The reason isn't listed in the linked article, but c'mon, you gotta think that his hard hitting style of dishing out and taking big moves is a partial reason. If this retirement sticks, and we know in wrestling that it's rare the guy who can stay retired, then I'll have to say I consider myself lucky to have seen him before he hung up the boots. He was awesome at King of Trios this year, and holy shit, the moment when he was in the ring with Manami Toyota on Night 2? That was the one time where I most felt like I was watching history in the making.
His final Japanese match was a win over Gedo in New Japan. He'll be wrestling a few more matches outside of his native land before retiring for good. I know I'm not alone in saying this, but congratulations on a great career, and thanks for the memories, Dick Togo. You earned it.
